The 21st Annual ImageNation Outdoors Festival: Soul Cinema & Music Under the Stars is a free open-air film and music series held in NYC parks on warm summer nights from July - September. The free festival targets community residents, who yearn for holistic portrayals of Blacks and Latinos in film and media. ImageNation Outdoors features films bye and / or about Black people worldwide that are preceded with DJs and live music performances. The festival averages 1,500 people per event.

Festival Highlights


Over 25,000 festival attendees, Free Outdoor Film & Music Events, Art/NFT Exhibits, Harlem Week Celebrations, a Kids Night Out event, ImageNation x FDBA Open Streets DINNER & A MOVIE UNDER THE STARS series, A Great Day in Harlem Family Block Party, Soul-train Tribute of the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop, an Outdoor Black Anime Convention, Outdoor Black Art and NFT Exhibits.

Festival Film


ImageNaton takes pride in presenting quality Black independent films that reflect the communities we screen in. Some of the movies we shown at past festivals include the Oscar winning film Moonlight, Aretha Franklin Amazing Grace and Sorry to Bother You to name a few. We will be screening features, shorts, documentary and narrative films by and about Black and Latino culture.
